Three former high school classmates meet up after twenty years and realize that they have a common enemy: the well-connected.
Max (Luca Argentero) is a talented journalist for a local newspaper, forced to write for the most absurd magazines to make ends meet, but when he’s finally about to get the job he’s been longing for, he is pushed aside to make way for the daughter of a famous writer.
Irma (Paola Cortellesi), even if she is one of the most talented doctors of the hospital where she works, she gets by thanks only to the fellowships she has to keep earning. When, finally, she is about to get a regular employment contract, the girlfriend of a hospital bigwig gets the contract, instead.
Samuele (Paolo Ruffini) is a sort of genius in criminal law, and after many years as an assistant (or slave?) to an eminent professor, he seems set to win a coveted position as an academic researcher. But this time, somehow, it’s the professor’s incompetent son-in-law who gets the job.
Years of study, exams, bachelors degrees and masters seem pointless, and so the three friends conspire to rise up against the system.
