13 December 2018 – The highly expected second season of Suburra, the series – the first original Italian Netflix crime thriller produced by Cattleya – part of ITV Studios – in collaboration with Rai Fiction, will be released globally on Netflix on February 22nd.
The second season of Suburra, the series , based on the novel of the same title written by Giancarlo De Cataldo and Carlo Bonini, takes place over the 15 days leading up to the election of the new major in Rome, three months after the end of the first season. The consequences of the fight over the land in the seaside of Rome (Ostia) have risen the stakes of our characters. The deadly battle between organized crime, corrupt politicians and the Vatican is even stronger.

Which new alliances will the protagonists secure and which new strategies will they implement to achieve control of the Roman coast?
The protagonists are the same who conquered the audience in the first season, next to new comers. Aureliano (Alessandro Borghi), Spadino (Giacomo Ferrara) and Lele (Eduardo Valdarnini), Sara Monaschi (Claudia Gerini), an ambitious financial consultant collaborating with the Church, the politician Amedeo Cinaglia (Filippo Nigro) and the unscrupulous boss Samurai (Francesco Acquaroli). In this new season, the women of the series will play cruel roles and will contribute to the development of the story.

The second season is written by head writer Barbara Petronio with Ezio Abbate and Fabrizio Bettelli. The directors are Andrea Molaioli (Suburra The Series, The Girl by the Lake, The Jewel ) and the new-comer Piero Messina (The Wait ).
